Hello everyone!

My name is Doctor D and I am a scientist and professor of human anatomy & physiology. I did my university work in biomedical engineering and physics. My Master’s and PhD are in cardiovascular and hemodynamic physiology. As a professor, I have taught thousands of students the fundamentals of human anatomy & physiology for more than a decade.

I have also taught physics, statistics, differential calculus, algebra, organic chemistry, general chemistry, biostatistics, biochemistry, biology, multivariable calculus.

In addition to what I have taught and tutored, I also provide test preparation courses for the GREs, MCATs, PCATs, and SATs.

How do I teach & tutor online?

I tutor online using Google Meets, Microsoft Teams, or Zoom which allows me to share my screen and do lessons/lectures using my own online whiteboard. Usually, students provide me with all of the material/notes and assignment(s) that they would like to go over which allows me to customize a lesson plan for us. Additionally, I use a combination of my own questions as well as questions my students provide me with in order to reinforce requisite concepts/principles. It is a very interactive process with video/voice and students feel like they are engaged at all times!

What makes me so special?

My strength as an educator comes from critically scrutinizing information and incorporating various opinions/perspectives into my own.  Doing so has allowed me to develop a thorough understanding about the topics that I have taught.  I strive to provide that knowledge to my students through comprehensive explanations as is evidenced in my reviews and reinforced practice.

How do I prevent burnout?

When I am not teaching, I love to cook, play videogames, solve puzzles, build/tinker, and laugh.  I don’t liken myself to a comedian by any stretch of the imagination but nevertheless, I love to make myself and the people around me laugh. I work in very serious and stressful environments so being able to add levity to situations has been integral for me and how I manage stress. I take my work and what I do very seriously, but by no means do I take myself seriously; I am my biggest source of laughter.
